James M. Clark, 43, was killed by his wife, Christine S. Clark, at their home in Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to New York State Police.

“His life was brutally ended at the hands of his wife after years of domestic violence,” organizer Alicia Randazzo, Clark’s sister, wrote in a GoFundMe.

Clark worked at NAPA Saratoga Auto Supply in Saratoga Springs and “will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the love he brought into the lives of others,” his family wrote in an obituary from Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home.

The auto supply company stepped up to cover the entire cost of Clark’s funeral, so the GoFundMe donations will go straight to his five children, Randazzo wrote Sunday, Sept. 27 in an update.

“The outpour of love and support from everyone has not gone unnoticed,” she wrote. “Our family cannot thank each and everyone of you enough.”

The fundraiser had generated $5,000 toward an $8,000 goal as of Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 29.

Meanwhile, Christine Clark was held without bail following her arraignment Friday, Sept. 25 and is due back in court Friday, Oct. 9, according to online records.
