The Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) is the fastest-growing community foundation in the nation among foundations with $100 million or more in assets, and the 83rd largest by assets. That claim is according to newly released data from the Community Foundation Research and Training Institute (CFRTI).

According to GMCF’s press release, CFRTI based its rankings on asset growth between 2018 and 2024, which examined 909 community foundations nationwide.

Vern Henricks, president and CEO of GMCF, said the ranking represents organizational growth, but more importantly, it reflects the growing charitable resources from donors, families, nonprofits, and communities to support the causes and places important to them.

He said the recognition doesn’t belong to GMCF, which is just a vehicle to connect people and causes, but to those people and organizations who have repeatedly chosen generosity.

The Clay Center Community Improvement Foundation, an affiliate of GMCF, said on its Facebook that these numbers represent real impact and they are proud to be a small piece of that success.
