A 30-foot mural, memorializing EMS Captain Alison Russo who was fatally stabbed after leaving her stationhouse on 20th Avenue in Astoria in September 2022, will be unveiled on October 17. The original 12 foot mural deteriorated and was removed. On October 17, many FDNY/EMS and other agencies will gather at Fire Station 49 and then walk across the street and unveil the new mural.
