On Saturday, October 3, award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson will introduce the inaugural World of Smoke Festival, a one-day celebration of barbecue, music and global culture at Resorts World New York City in Queens, home to Chef Samuelsson’s acclaimed VIBE BBQ.

Designed for barbecue lovers, families and food adventurers of all ages, World of Smoke will showcase the extraordinary diversity of one of the world’s most beloved culinary traditions. From Memphis-style American barbecue to Argentine grilling, Korean BBQ to Caribbean jerk, the festival will bring together some of the region’s most exciting barbecue masters to demon­strate how different cultures put their own distinctive spin on cooking over smoke and fire.

“Barbecue is a universal language,” said Chef Marcus Samuelsson. “Every culture has its own traditions, flavors and techniques, and World of Smoke will bring together those traditions in one incredible celebration. The inaugural World of Smoke Festival will feature a diverse lineup of participating bar­becue restaurants and pitmasters, including: Babysmoker BBQ, Del Sur Artisan Eats, Dinosaur BBQ, Hill Country Barbeque Market, Jase’s BBQ, Kimchi Smoke, Mable’s Smokehouse, O Cookshop, Payne’s BBQ, Saigon Social, Smok-Haus, Virgil’s Real BBQ, Vibe BBQ, Wicked Jerk.

World of Smoke is designed to be an accessible celebration for the entire community. Ad­mission is free and guests can purchase individual BBQ offerings from participating vendors, making it easy to sample multiple styles and build their own ultimate barbecue experience.

Adding to the festivities will be global musical entertainment, creating an energetic atmos­phere headlined by The Rakiem Walker Project featuring GLRYA with special guests.
