Homes with connections to famous movies are always intriguing, as are dwellings with a spooky past.

If that’s piqued your interest, then you’ll be keen to know that there’s a residence in New York City boasting both, thanks to the fact that, as Realtor.com notes, it’s located in the “iconic” building seen in Ghostbusters (1984), the beloved comedy directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson, as well as Rick Moranis and Annie Potts. What’s even more intriguing is that the residence is now selling for $8.9 million.

Appearing in the film as the home of Sigourney Weaver’s character — who finds herself dealing with a problematic haunting by Zuul the Gatekeeper and calls in the Ghostbusters for help — the building where the abode is now for sale lacks any real-life paranormal activity (as far as we know), but does offer stunning style and an enviable space.

The listing from Lisa K. Lippman of Brown Harris Stevens informs potential buyers that the home is found at 55 Central Park West — a 19-floor, pre-war co-op that was built in 1930 and is known as The Shandor Building.

The unit itself spans an impressive 4,400 square feet and features 13 rooms, which include five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as multiple areas for dining and entertaining.

Those who visit the home will find themselves entering via a “dramatic, square gallery with a stunning Park view,” which then leads into a “grand sunken living room” that’s “filled with natural light from the enormous picture window” that also faces Central Park, according to the listing.

In the dining room, “classic prewar proportions” meet “a modern aesthetic,” which results in a space ideal for “both intimate dinners and larger gatherings,” the listing explains. The kitchen, which has been renovated, features a more laid-back area to dine, along with plenty of storage.

When it’s time to retire for the night, the residents will be able to enjoy bedrooms that are found in two separate wings of the home, each offering quite a bit of space and fabulous views.

That’s not to overlook the fact that the abode offers its owners 60 feet of Central Park frontage, which is definitely a selling point.
