Canandaigua, N.Y. — Our Bright Spot shines on top honors for a local business.

Finger Lakes Textiles and its Arctic Gear line have been named the 2026 “Coolest Thing Made in New York” by the Business Council of New York State.

The annual statewide competition celebrates products, innovation and manufacturing excellence across New York. This year’s competition featured 38 businesses and organizations, with more than 40,000 votes cast during six weeks of voting.

A branch of Mozaic, Finger Lakes Textiles produces Arctic Gear hats and other textile products while providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, veterans and others who face barriers to employment.

After advancing to the final two alongside Moog Inc., the organization earned the title and a spot on the Business Council’s 2027 Manufacturing Bus Tour.

The organization thanked employees, customers, partners and community members who supported and voted for it throughout the competition.

“Every person who cast a vote helped make this possible,” Mozaic President and CEO Allen Connely said in a statemet. “This award is a celebration of our employees, the people we support, our customers, our partners, and the communities that believe in our mission.”
