The men’s soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 setback to the Brooklyn College Bulldogs in a CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) match on Wednesday afternoon at Brooklyn College Field.

In a contest that was tightly contested from start to finish, the lone goal came at the 69:36 mark of the second half when Brooklyn benefited from an own goal, which ultimately proved to be the difference.

The two teams were nearly even across the board statistically. Brooklyn held a slim 8-7 advantage in shots, while both teams recorded five shots in the second half. The Bulldogs also finished with a narrow 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Baruch’s best offensive opportunities came from a balanced attack that produced seven total shots and two shots on goal.

Andreas Kotronis led the Bearcats with two shots, including one on target. Angelo Jara also had two shots, while Sardor Abidov, Diego Sachun, Jose Cazanas Castro, and Anthony Prado each contributed one shot in the tough loss.
