Refuge NYC is gearing up for spooky season with “PURGATORY,” a 4-day Halloween marathon for dance music lovers, running from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.
The event will bring together DJs like Salute, Jayda G, Stacey Pullen, Victor Calderone, Nicole Moudaber, Mira, and the last performance ever from the acclaimed duo Soul Clap, and more across six parties.
The four days of programming will feature sets and playlists spanning house, techno, UK garage and beyond. Additionally, day, night, and sunrise sessions will take over the main room and courtyard, creating an “immersive Halloween program built around Refuge’s dancefloor-first ethos,” as per an official press release.
As with other Refuge DJ sets and parties, the 500-capacity venue will retain its approach throughout “PURGATORY,” with no VIP sections or bottle service and a focus on the music: long-form DJ sets and an undivided dancefloor. The marathon will be powered by Refuge’s custom four-point REX analog sound system, co-engineered with Al Fierstein.
Refuge NYC was co-founded by promoter John DiMatteo and sound engineer Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, drawing inspiration from historical nightlife institutions like Paradise Garage and The Sound Factory. The venue offers an intimate, audiophile-grade environment centered on long-form DJ sets and community-first club culture.
