Asad’s Hot Chicken is coming to Staten Island, taking over a former Popeyes location in New Dorp with Nashville-style hot chicken. Founded in Philadelphia in 2022, the halal chain has grown to 19 locations, expanding into New Jersey and Delaware. Dave’s Hot Chicken is slated for the Staten Island Mall, while a proposed Raising Cane’s on Richmond Avenue awaits a traffic study. Popeyes has closed restaurants in Port Richmond, Richmond Valley and New Dorp. Asad’s menu includes tenders, sliders, wraps and loaded fries.
