A trio of comedians will be performing at The Queen’s this weekend.
Underground Comedy, featuring Akeem Hoyte-Charles, Niki Wright and Jon Gagnon, will be happening at The Queen’s on Friday, Oct. 9, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m.
The show, according to The Queen’s, will bring a killer lineup of headliners and rising stars from across Canada for one night, and promises a show that is “raw, unfiltered and funny.”
The show is brought to Nanaimo by Underground Comedy Club, a Vancouver comedy venue, with a variety of acts from Netflix, CBC, Just For Laughs, as well as Canada’s Got Talent and HBO.
Hoyte-Charles is a Just For Laughs comedian who, according to the club, is “known for his electric crowd work” and, what is described as, “fearless takes on race, as well as relationships and everything in between.”
Wright is described as giving “sharp, clever punchlines with a laid-back style,” according to The Queen’s.
The last comedian, Gagnon, is called a “festival favourite, and an award-winning writer, considered to be a high-energy headliner who is known for his razor-sharp observations as well as lightning-fast work.”
Tickets are available at www.jumpcomedy.com and are $25 in advance.
