QUEENS — A man was arrested after two people were slashed at an apartment building in Far Rockaway, authorities said.
The incident occurred just before midnight at an apartment building on Beach 54th Street in Queens. Police said the 52-year-old suspect barricaded himself inside the building after the attack.
Officers responded to the scene, where one officer discharged a firearm. No one was struck by the gunfire, according to authorities.
The victims, a man and a woman, suffered injuries in the incident and are expected to recover.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody. Additional details were not immediately released.
