NYPD detectives have released new surveillance images of the suspect they believe stabbed a man to death in a Bronx apartment building.
According to police sources, 27-year-old Martin Marquez arrived at 1555 Grand Concourse in Mount Eden on Oct. 7 to confront his alleged killer over a prior beef the pair had apparently had. When Marquez arrived, the two men got into a verbal dispute that ended in murder.
At just before 2 p.m, police from the 44th Precinct received a 911 call reporting that a person had been stabbed inside the hallway of the building. When officers arrived, they discovered Marquez with a stab wound to the neck. EMS rushed him to Lincoln Hospital, where he could not be saved and was pronounced dead.
The killer has been on the lam in the days since. Now cops have released clearer surveillance images of the man allegedly responsible in hopes he will be recognized. The footage shows a man appearing to speak on a cellphone wearing a black jacket, black, blue and red pants, and a gray hoodie.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
