Detectives say a 12-year-old girl hospitalized after she was shot twice outside of a home in the Bronx was an innocent bystander.

The young victim was rushed to the hospital Monday around 8:30 p.m. after being shot in the foot and the chest outside the house on Tratman Avenue in the Westchester Square neighborhood, police said.

The girl was taken to the hospital before EMS could arrive, the FDNY said. She was in serious condition, according to police.

Witnesses who live in the neighborhood shared details of the shooting with police and lead investigators to one of the guns ditched by the shooters.

“When I looked, they were throwing down guns on the floor. One of them was hesitant and tried going back to get the gun but the other one told him, ‘No, leave it,'” Melanie Ortiz, a neighbor who witnessed the gunmen scramble, said Monday night.

Police said two men last seen wearing all black were wanted in connection with the shooting.

Investigators were still working the scene early Tuesday morning. No arrests had yet been made.
