Two local Queens high school students, Brandon Kye (Stuyvesant HS) and Sebastian Sing (Francis Lewis HS), have self-published a multicultural cookbook. The book will be available free of charge for a limited time while supplies last. Those interested in receiving a copy can request one by emailing kitchenwithoutborders12@gmail.com (limited to one copy per household please.)
As true Queens natives, Brandon and Sebastian grew up loving local restaurants and diverse cuisines. After noticing that many local non-profits serving these diverse communities have faced recent funding cuts, the duo decided to take action. They created this cookbook to celebrate different cultures, promote community understanding, and spotlight organizations that serve New York City neighborhoods. The authors hope the book will encourage readers to try new recipes, learn about new diverse neighbors, while inspiring them to support local non-profit groups.
