Have you ever seen someone check their sleep score, count their steps or talk about the latest health trend they saw online? You are not alone. A survey from the University of Mount Saint Vincent found New York is one of the most engaged states in the country when it comes to wellness trends. New York ranked second, behind only Tennessee.

Oura Is New York’s Top Search

The top searched wellness trend in New York was Oura. Oura makes a smart ring that tracks things like sleep, activity and other health information. That does not mean everyone in New York owns one. It means more people here searched for Oura than other wellness trends during the past year.

Trying More Than a Few Trends

They found that the average New Yorker tried about 4.58 wellness trends in the last year. These trends include things like vitamins, protein snacks, wearable trackers, gut health products and workout routines. New Yorkers also said social media plays a role. Nearly 68% of people surveyed in the state said they had tried a wellness trend after seeing it online.

Wellness Is Everywhere

It is easy to see why wellness has become such a big topic. It shows up in grocery store aisles, on social media, in workout classes and conversations with friends. A label that says “high protein” grabs attention.

Remember that a popular trend is not always right for every person. Ask questions before spending money on a product or trying a major change to your health routine. The best choice is the one that fits your own needs and your life.
