With the magic of over one million lights, Lightscape returns to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3, 2027.

Now in its sixth year, the annual spectacular holiday event has dazzled hundreds of thousands of visitors with its colorful, festive displays.

The redesigned winding trail through BBG’s landscape begins and ends at the Visitor Center at 990 Washington Ave. Luminous installations and light-splashed landscapes highlight the Garden’s beauty in winter and are a love letter to its splendor.

The enchanting displays are awash in artistic lighting design, and visitors will encounter monumental lighted sculptures, colorful effects on BBG’s trees, architecture, and water features, plus site-specific music and sound.

This year’s lineup features 16 distinct installations, including popular fan favorites like the towering Winter Cathedral and “Bluebonnets” by Mandylights, with 3,000 bluebonnets filling the grass borders on either side of the path near Oak Circle, creating a stunning sea of luminescent flowers. A reimagined fountain show by Sense Effects will light up the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden.

New installations include Winter Wonder, a new work in the Cherry Esplanade, a fire garden across the Plant Family Lawn; the luminescent, glittering “Moon & Stars,” and a special piece titled “I Love Brooklyn” by Culture Creative and ArtAV.

While outside food and drink are not permitted, visitors can purchase hot drinks and snacks at the concessions along the route, or enjoy seasonal craft cocktails, specialty hot chocolate, savory bites, sweet treats, and more in the indoor Lightscape Bar. Reservations for a sit-down dinner at Lightscape Lodge at Yellow Magnolia Café will open this fall.
