The Spartans finished up a gauntlet of games over the past week and a half with a rescheduled game against Centennial League foe Manhattan. The game would be close and end with a final score of 1-1, leaving both teams with a tie on their overall record.
In the first half, it was all Spartans and in the 27th minute, Braxton Pugh opened the scoring to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. They maintained that lead heading into halftime as they looked to close out the final game of their gauntlet. Coming out of the halftime break, neither team could get anything going until the 65th minute when Manhattan tied it on a corner kick.
In the final 15 minutes, neither team could net a second goal and the final score ended up being 1-1. With that, the Spartans conclude a stretch of play that saw them play five games in nine days which saw them go 3-1-1 in that stretch.
The Spartans move to 10-3-1 on the season and will return to the pitch on Monday, Oct. 19 when they host Spring Hill for another home match.
