ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Be Good, Do Good is the motto behind the first-ever volunteer fair at the New York State Museum on Sunday.

As part of America’s 250th celebrations, the state library will bring together New Yorkers looking to make a difference in their community.

20 cultural organizations will be there for people looking for volunteer opportunities.

The fair is part of a larger initiative called the Great Give Back happening across the state.

“The state library works with libraries across the state to develop new programs and improve services,” said Lauren Moore, New York State Librarian. “In New York, the connection between America gives and libraries is a natural one because our libraries are so embedded in their communities. There’s no better institution to help lead a civic engagement project.”

The event runs on Sunday from 11 to 1 at the New York State Museum.
