HARTFORD, Conn. – Ten-man Brooklyn FC Men rallied twice from one-goal deficits to record a 3-2 comeback win over Hartford Athletic in USL Championship action on Saturday night.

Midfielder CJ Olney struck for the game-winner in the 79th minute to seal the win.

Making his first appearance after returning from international duty, midfielder Jaden Servania crossed a ball deep from the right wing. He found Olney making a run in behind from the left wing. Olney then clinically finished with his first touch.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 73rd minute. Midfielder Anthony Fontana was awarded his second yellow card after he received his first warning in the 43rd minute.

Brooklyn, which is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference, improved to 5-17-6 and 21 points. Seventh-place Hartford (40), which already had clinched a playoff spot, dropped to 9-7-13.

Hartford dominated much of the first half, and Brooklyn goalkeeper Jackson Lee made four saves to keep the visitors within striking distance.

In the sixth minute, a Hartford forward closed down on the Brooklyn net, but Lee produced a save as the player tried to round him. Hartford was unable to convert the rebound. Lee made another double save in the 18th minute, with his second stop coming while he was lying on the ground.

Hartford’s attacking pressure found its reward in the 21st minute, following a Brooklyn giveaway in midfield. A midfielder played a through ball to forward Michael Adedokun, who unleashed a shot into the bottom corner.

Brooklyn secured its first equalizer in the 55th minute. Fontana sent a free kick into the box. Defenders were unable to clear, and Brooklyn forward Abdoulaye Kante took advantage of the chaos, toe-poking the ball off the crossbar and into the net.

However, Hartford regained the lead only two minutes later. A cross from the left wing found the head of forward Sadat Anaku, who scored.

Brooklyn refused to give up, and leveled the score again in the 63rd minute. Midfielder CJ Olney Jr. dribbled down the left wing and crossed the ball to midfielder Johnny Klein, who was making a late run towards the box. Klein controlled the ball with his first touch and volleyed the ball into the back of the net with his second touch for a 2-2 deadlock.

That left it up for Olney to play hero.
