Queens of the Stone Age have announced their ninth studio album, “Perfecth,” which is scheduled for Oct. 30 through Matador Records. The announcement follows weeks of cryptic teasers from the band and arrives with the release of “Insignificant Other,” the second preview of the album after “Easy Street,” which featured Nikki Lane.

“Perfecth” will be issued digitally and on CD and vinyl, with a limited deluxe edition offering additional packaging and artwork. Produced by frontman Josh Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, the album was recorded during sessions in New Orleans and Los Angeles and contains nine tracks exploring different forms of love, loss and recovery. The album’s title intentionally alters the word “perfect,” reflecting Homme’s view that perfection is ultimately unattainable. “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth’,” Homme said. He added, “And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”

“Insignificant Other” serves as a central piece of the album and was reportedly captured in only two takes, allowing Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore to preserve a spontaneous quality in the performance. Homme described the song as “a song about distance,” focusing on the disorienting experience of losing someone who once occupied a central place in your life. NME characterized the track as a groove-driven addition to the Queens of the Stone Age catalog, while other reports noted its looser, more expansive feel.

The album’s track list also includes “It’s Only Love,” “Where The Goth Girls At?,” “Mono,” “From the Cliff,” “Sunday,” “Easy Street,” “Phantom Limb” and “Run Away From The Mob.” The band has described the material as moving between contrasting moods and emotional perspectives, with Homme saying the songs intentionally come from different places while connecting themes of love, lust, foolishness and hard-earned wisdom.

Queens of the Stone Age returned to the road in September for North American stadium dates with Foo Fighters before heading overseas for headline performances in Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand later in 2026.
