A sprawling new apartment building featuring 345 residences, a massive gym and resort-style outdoor spaces is expected to debut in Hoboken in summer 2027.
Hoboken Urby, a 16-story development at 250 Observer Highway, will offer studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with more than 20,000 square feet of commercial and retail space.
Among the amenities planned for the development is a 16,000-square-foot gym and a landscaped courtyard featuring a sauna and cold plunge, sunbeds, grilling stations and a fire pit pavilion.
The courtyard, designed by landscape architect Bas Smets, will feature towering bamboo and extensive greenery. Smets’ recent projects include landscape design work at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, according to a statement from Urby.
Apartments will feature two-tone white oak and cream cabinetry, waterfall countertops and open shelving.
Bathrooms will feature white oak vanities, terrazzo flooring and colored tile walls.
Larger apartments will also include private terraces.
The project recently reached a major construction milestone when Urby announced Oct. 19 that the building had topped out — meaning construction had reached its full structural height.
The building was designed by BKSK Architects, with interiors by Shawn Hausman Design and landscaping by Bas Smets.
