NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a suspect who allegedly followed an 83-year-old woman into her Upper Manhattan building and tried to force his way into her apartment this week in what police said was as an attempted rape.
According to the NYPD, the suspect trailed the woman into her residential building at West 204th Street and Vermilyea Avenue in Inwood just before 9 a.m. Monday.
As she entered her apartment, he allegedly exposed himself to her and made sexual advances.
He then tried to enter her apartment but was unsuccessful “after a slight struggle,” police said. He fled on foot and remains at large.
EMS responded and treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.
