Singer-songwriter Sombr performed his pop hit “My Body Isn’t Ready” during a pop-up performance at a New York City subway station on Thursday.

The “Back to Friends” singer and New York native told the Metropolitan Transportation Authority ahead of his impromptu performance, which also included a keyboard player and a group of harmonizing backup singers, that he grew up riding the subway.
“The MTA is my childhood. It was how I got around,” he said.
The performance took place at the 14th Street-Union Square station, the MTA said.
“When I was in high school, I took four trains to school every day,” he added.
After his performance, he had a simple message: “Keep taking the subway,” he said, giving a smile and a thumbs-up.
