A man and a woman were caught on surveillance footage dumping a dead body stuffed into a duffel bag on a Brooklyn sidewalk — leaving a scrap collector to discover the corpse Friday morning.
The scavenger found the Gator Case containing the corpse outside a Church on Avenue L near E. 94th St. in Canarsie around 9:20 a.m., the footage shows.
But it wasn’t until after he loaded the bag onto a hand truck and wheeled it to E. 93rd St. that he realized it contained human remains, cops said.
Video obtained by the Daily News shows the body being dumped around 2 a.m. that morning. A person is seen taking the bag out of a car’s open trunk and laying it along the curb, then picking it up and turning it perpendicular to the curb. A second person emerges from the car and, after the body is dumped, apparently offers the first person something to smoke when the video clip cuts off.
“The car just pulled up, and a man and a woman got out,” said witness Joseph Luckner, 51, a warehouse worker who was across the street at a late-night barbershop. “They dumped the body right there. We didn’t pay it any attention.”

“Of course, we didn’t realize it was a body,” he added. “I thought it was just trash night.”
The victim, an adult male, was found next to a green garbage can, officials said. His name was not immediately disclosed.
“It’s disgusting. Disgusting to see,” said William Kennedy, owner of the Love Gifts Cape smoke shop located next door to the church where the body was ditched. “I’m new to the neighborhood. I don’t like things like this being dropped off in front of my place.”
Foul play was suspected, although the city’s medical examiner’s office needed to schedule an autopsy to determine how the person died.
There was no immediate arrest.
