Police officers shot a suspect in the Bronx after that person opened fire on the officers Monday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Bainbridge Avenue near East 194th Street in Fordham, police said.
According to officials, the shooting stemmed from a dispute at a nearby bodega.
The suspect who was shot was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive, police said. No officers were injured.
The NYPD says a gun was recovered at the scene.
