STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A man was shot in a parking lot near the Staten Island Courthouse in St. George on Friday, according to multiple sources.
The incident is a suspected suicide attempt, according to multiple sources.
The incident was called at 12:08 p.m. in the vicinity of the municipal parking lot on Central Avenue between Hyatt Street and Slosson Terrace, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY and EMS.
A person was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton from that location. The FDNY spokesperson could not provide information on the person’s condition
The man who was shot reportedly was scheduled to appear before Justice Lisa Gray for sentencing in a case involving guns and drugs.
A portion of the parking lot is cordoned off with caution tape during the investigation.
