COURTHOUSE,
Nov 14 – A man charged in The
Bronx on gun and stolen
property charges, pled down to
petit larceny, has been
detained on a Violation of
Supervised Release in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New
York.

On November 14 he
appealed to the Part I Judge,
Jesse M. Furman. Inner City
Press was there.

  A video of
the underlying incident had
been submitted, but is not in
the public docket. Rather, the
CJA lawyer Sabrina Shroff,
fresh off a victory in DC in
the sandwich throwing case,
said that based on the Bronx
DA’s decision to plead down,
her client should be released
on bond.

  Judge
Furman noted that the burden
is on the defendant in VOSR
proceedings; he urged the
Senior District Judge in the
underlying case, which Inner
City Press has covered since
2022, to hold an expedited
hearing.

Why don’t you
keep the case? the CJA lawyer
asked.

 Judge
Furman scheduled it before him
on November 18, if Judge
Victor Marrero does not decide
otherwise.

Inner City Press
is aware that Judge Marrero
has a November 18, 3 pm
hearing in the USA v. Gupta
case of murder for hire for
India. Judge Marrero is also
the week’s Part I Judge. Watch
this site.

The case is USA
v. Danfakha, 1:20-cr-473
(Marrero / Tarnofsky / Furman)
