11/14; 4:45 p.m.—A man was found dead outside his residence on Loomis Street in Little Falls on the morning of Nov. 13.
The Little Falls Police Department reported that officers responded to a call about an unresponsive, unclothed man at approximately 6 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers found the man, later identified as Ryan Frank, in the yard, and emergency medical services confirmed he was deceased.
“Investigators discovered that the victim was laying below the balcony of his second-floor residence and that doors were locked and chained,” according to Police Chief Robert Thomas.Â
The Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Police Forensic Investigations Unit assisted in the investigation.
“As the morning progressed, the evidence team collected any physical evidence, the body was removed to the hospital, and several friends, family and associates were interviewed,” Thomas said.Â
An autopsy was conducted on Nov. 14, but toxicology results are pending.
“Police are using every avenue available to them to be complete in this investigation, and at this time, we have not formed a final decision on the cause of death,” Thomas said.Â

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — A body was discovered in front of a home on Loomis Street in Little Falls Thursday morning.
Little Falls and New York State Police are investigating the scene with assistance from the Herkimer County District Attorney.
A neighbor alerted police around 5:30 a.m. about the body of a man lying in the grass.
Authorities are still determining if a crime occurred.
