They’re preparing for a Mamdani administration lox, stock and barrel.
Jewish New Yorkers are arming themselves before an anti-Israel “mayor who despises us” takes the helm of New York City, several told The Post this week.
They want to “have a say in our protection and not have to rely on others,” one said.

The morning after mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s victory, firearms instructors and gun shop owners were flooded with urgent pleas. “It’s getting busy because of him,” said longtime gun safety instructor Lance Dashefsky.
Conceal carry permit requests rose 14% from 620 in June, when Zo won the Dem primary, to 706 in August, according to the latest NYPD data.
Licenses can take between six months and a year to get in NYC, and only after completing a mandatory state concealed-carry class that includes 16 hours of classroom study and two hours of live fire training.
Dashefsky, 57, who expects the numbers to soar even higher, caters to the new crowd by providing bagels, lox and a shmear during a typical Sunday class.
“I always ask people in class why they want a gun,” said Dashefsky. “And now the answer is Mamdani.”
Brooklyn firearms instructor Ross Den said anyone who was ever on the fence about getting a concealed carry weapon, is no longer.

That kosher cohort includes Jewish doctors, lawyers, plumbers and even rabbis, he continued.
“There are plenty of rabbis who carry – shul is where the greatest threat is,” said Den, adding “People are beginning to wake up and are now realizing they have to defend themselves and not rely on the cavalry to come save them.”
Bringing a concealed carry weapon to shul is legal as long as the armed congregant is designated by the house of worship as a security volunteer, according to Den.
Michael Bergida — who named his two-month-old gun shop in Marine Park, Brooklyn, Samson Armory, a nod to the Biblical Israelite warrior and symbol of sheer strength — predicted “chaos” under the incoming radical socialist mayor, and is seeing a sharp uptick in business.

“It’s like doomsday prepping – people are loading up ammo,” said Bergida, 30, who’s also a NRA-certified firearms instructor and trainer. “I have a passion to prep Jews.”
“The NYPD is all retiring – we have to fight for ourselves. People are freaking out over Mamdani – anyone who has any Christian-Judeo values,” Bergida claimed, adding that he largely works with the Jewish community who are tougher than bubbe’s brisket.
“We’re probably the only gun store to have a minyan,” said the 30-year-old Orthodox owner about the Jewish gathering for prayer who defiantly declared he’s not getting out of dodge. “We ain’t fleeing— we’re here to stay. We’re not victims anymore.”

Mamdani, founder of his college Students for Justice in Palestine chapter and supporter of the antisemitic Boycott, Divest, Sanction movement, outrageously pronounced that “when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF” as an assemblyman in 2023.
The Muslim radical socialist has refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and vowed to arrest the Israeli PM on his next visit to the Big Apple.
Election analysis by district shows that Hasidic strongholds such as Borough Park and Crown Heights voted overwhelmingly for former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, 88% and 75% respectively.

Israelis living in NYC are especially on guard, especially after Mamdani’s Democratic Socialists of America’s demands of the mayor-elect surfaced, revealing a virulently anti-Israel and antisemitic wish list.
“We are Jewish and we will protect ourselves – even if the mayor despises us,” said an Israeli native mother of four who decided to get a gun license the morning after the election. “We will have a say in our protection and not have to rely on others.”
