A stranger punched and tried to rape a 25-year-old woman in a terrifying Brooklyn encounter over the weekend, cops said. 

The perv approached the victim around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Watkins Street and Livonia Avenue in Brownsville, authorities said as they released photos of the still-on-the-loose attacker.

He slugged her in the face before trying to take off her clothes, police said.

The attacker then bolted – though it was not immediately clear whether the victim fought him off or he fled for another reason.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, cops said.

The alleged predator was still on the loose Tuesday afternoon, as the Brooklyn Special Victims Squad investigates the crime.

Footage released by the NYPD earlier Tuesday shows the still-at-large creep walking on the sidewalk past a construction site, wearing a green jacket with white sleeves over a black sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.
