STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Dry and mainly clear conditions will continue across Staten Island through Thursday night with temperatures running about five degrees below normal, according to the National Weather Service New York office.
Thursday will remain dry under high pressure with daytime highs in the upper 40s, followed by overnight lows that may occur earlier than usual as clouds begin moving in late Thursday night.
The National Weather Service indicates Friday will bring more cloud cover but milder temperatures, with highs reaching the lower to middle 50s across Staten Island and the rest of New York City.
Rain chances increase Friday night into early Saturday morning, particularly for southern portions of the region. The precipitation is expected to be light with no flooding concerns. The timing of the rainfall appears most likely during the late Friday night and early Saturday morning hours before high pressure returns, bringing clearing skies for the remainder of Saturday.
Sunday’s forecast shows a return to dry conditions with temperatures near seasonal norms. The extended forecast maintains dry weather through Monday with temperatures close to normal for late November.
Looking further ahead, the next significant weather system is expected to arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday, when rain appears likely across the region. While specific rainfall amounts aren’t yet determined, current forecasts suggest limited hydrologic impacts.
