A Franklin Square bagel store and an Italian ice shop caught fire on Sunday evening, fire officials said.
The blaze broke out at 529 Franklin Ave., which houses 529 Bagels and Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices, around 5:18 p.m., Nassau County Fire Marshal Assistant Chief Andrew Schmidt told Newsday.
The building is a single-floor, 50-foot by 50-foot structure, on the corner of Third and Franklin avenues, the chief said.
More than 150 firefighters responded to the fire, Schmidt said. No one was injured in the fire, he said.
The fire was sparked in the basement and was still burning around 7:30 p.m., according to the chief.
Nassau County police closed down Franklin Avenue between Second and Third avenues to traffic and advised travelers to avoid the area.
