The Trump Organization is pushing back after comments made by Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano about the future of casino development in The Bronx.
On Tuesday, Spano said Bally’s proposal for a casino at the former Trump Links site in The Bronx stands to benefit from MGM Resorts’ decision to withdraw its application for Empire City Casino. He said Bally’s has a deal with Donald Trump that would pay him an additional $115 million if a casino opens there.
In a statement, the Trump Organization said it had nothing to do with MGM’s decision and called any suggestion otherwise “completely false, irresponsible and pure speculation.” The statement added that the mayor may want to focus his energy on improving his own city.
News 12 has reached out to the mayor’s office for comment but has not heard back.
