This uptown Manhattan neighborhood continues to go up and up.
A penthouse duplex on Central Park North in Harlem — one crowned by a private roof terrace — has listed for $11.5 million, making it the priciest presently for sale in the area, according to StreetEasy.
It’s a big price, but it’s deeply discounted from its $19.5 million ask in 2021.
The seller: real estate and entertainment entrepreneur Mike DePaola.

DePaola, who chairs Art Walk NY for Coalition for the Homeless, also runs the pop up Art Bodega on the Lower East Side, which runs to the end of the year — and TW Fine Art gallery in Palm Beach.
The modern, and beautifully designed, penthouse boasts more than 50 feet of direct Central Park frontage. At 3,557 square feet, it comes with four bedrooms, 3.5 baths and nearly 1,700 square feet of outdoor space.
DePaola bought the glassy nest at 111 Central Park North for $8 million in 2008. With three kids in three different New York City schools, he said he would “zip down Fifth Avenue” in his car for school drop-offs “like a suburban dad.”
Design details include 30-foot-high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a fireplace and a frosted glass staircase designed by architect Dean Maltz.
The main floor also features an eat-in chef’s kitchen, an open dining area, a sitting room and two glass balconies.

Upstairs, a main bedroom suite with a spa-like bath and walk-in closets opens to a large, landscaped terrace.
The home is topped by that rooftop terrace, which faces Central Park and comes with an outdoor fireplace, a spa and a lounge with a pergola.
A storage unit and parking spot with an e-charging station are also deeded with this apartment.
DePaola told Gimme Shelter he loves the “high ceilings, all the glass and looking out into the middle of the park. I’m convinced I have the best views in the city. I haven’t seen better and no one has proved me wrong yet.”
“There are no comps for this apartment,” he added. “It was the perfect neighborhood for me, with Central Park as my front lawn. It’s just a lot of apartment for me, now that I am a single nester turning 60. It needs to be someone else’s dream home now.”
