BOROUGHWIDE — THE ADAMS ADMINISTRATION failed to send representatives to last week’s City Council hearing about how the city is preparing for increased federal presence from ICE and the National Guard, according to Councilmember Lincoln Restler, who represents neighborhoods from Greenpoint to Brooklyn Heights. Restler led the hearing as chair of the Committee on Governmental Operations.
“Mayor Adams was in Uzbekistan and failed to send anyone to testify,” Restler noted in his Tuesday newsletter. In light of this abdication, “It’s abundantly clear that it will take all of us to keep New Yorkers safe,” he said, urging everyday Brooklynites to attend the Brooklyn “Hands Off Mass Training” on Saturday, Dec. 6 from noon to 4 p.m.
Participants will learn about their rights, how to form an ICE watch, and how to organize and mobilize. Register at mobilize.us.
