STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Rezoning to accommodate the construction of an 18-story residential and affordable housing apartment building in St. George will be discussed on Tuesday when Community Board 1 holds a public virtual Land Use Public Hearing.

The construction is planned by Hamilton Property Holdings for 37-59 Hamilton Ave., within the Special Hillsides Preservation District. A rezoning from R6 and R7-3/C2-4 to R7-3 is requested.

The development will include 369 apartments and 7,700 square feet of space for community use, according to the documents provided to Community Board 1.

It will also include at least 146 parking spaces located at 37-59 Hamilton Ave. and 199-206 St. Marks Place, (block 13, Lots 1, 6, p/o 116, 119, 121, 123, 124, 127).
