Victoria Beckham extended an apparent olive branch to her eldest son Brooklyn as she shared a poignant clip in the run-up to Christmas.

The family are said to have been involved in an ongoing feud for months, with Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, notably absent from gatherings.

Victoria, 50, posted a video on Instagram stories showing the Christmas stockings hanging above the fireplace at her mother Jackie’s home, with the caption: “Sooooo many grandchildren”.

One stocking was particularly noticeable in the middle of the hearth, emblazoned with Brooklyn’s name. Speaking to the camera, Victoria said: “So I’m here at my mum and dad’s house and look how cute.

“They’ve got all of the grandchildren’s stockings up ready for Christmas.”

It is thought the video could be a signal to Brooklyn that his family are still thinking of him.

Elsewhere, younger son Cruz made a more direct appeal on social media. Posting a close-up picture, he added the caption: “Life is too short to be silence, at least talk it out.”

Despite the apparent plea, neither Brooklyn nor Cruz are following each other on social media.

Brooklyn and his wife were absent from star-studded celebrations as his father Sir David Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday in May.

The pair also kept silent as Sir David was knighted at Windsor Castle earlier this month.

As he posted images of a fishing trip to Scotland with by sons Cruz and Romeo, Sir David took care to include his older son, writing on Instagram: “You were missed Brooklyn Beckham.”

A source claims the feud partly began after ‘anti-Nicola’ stories were briefed to the media by an aide close to Beckhams.

A source told the Mail: “There is an obvious first step which would be a public acknowledgement [by David and Victoria] of what they did, and an apology.

“It cannot be a performative thing. There is no realistic chance of a reconciliation without that happening first.”

The insider added: “It is hard to understand the intensity and the escalation. It seems that they thought they could heap abuse on Nicola without any consequence. They did not let up.”

Victoria joined her husband at Windsor Castle to watch his investiture with the King and said: “I’ve never felt prouder than I do today.”

Sharing a series of pictures from the day on Instagram, she wrote: “David, from the moment I met you 28 years ago, you’ve always been so proud to represent your country.

“Whether on or off the pitch, no one loves England or respects our Royal Family more, so to see you honoured by The King today is something I’ll forever cherish.”
