Several people were arrested as protesters gathered outside a Manhattan garage on Saturday, November 29, amid reports federal agents had gathered there for an immigration raid, local media.

NYPD told Storyful police responded to a call for a “disorderly group” at around midday, in the vicinity of Centre Street and Howard Street.

“Upon arrival, officers observed multiple individuals who were blocking the street and exits at different locations,” police said. “The individuals were also observed throwing debris.”

According to local news reports, the confrontation appeared to foil the raid and federal agents were blocked by protesters at the exit of the garage.

“[Protesters] were instructed multiple times to disperse, and they did not comply. As a result, multiple individuals were taken into custody,” police added.
