More snow is on the way for New York State. From Western New York all the way up to Clayton, New York. 4 inches of snow is expected to make a messy commute on Tuesday. Driving conditions are going to get bad.

The southern tier is still in a Winter Weather Advisory until 10 PM tonight. The winter weather advisory is not necessarily lake effect snow, but because the weather and temperature have been up and down this past weekend, expect that the roads are going to be pretty icy. When driving on the New York State Thruway this morning there were certainly some accidents and slow spots around town. When the ‘black ice’ happens it can really sneak up on drivers while they are driving around town.

The snow is going to stop as the week goes on, but the temperatures are expected to get really, really low which means that some school districts will make a decision on whether or not to have school because it will be too cold to wait at the bus stop. Some of the wind chills at the end of the week are going to be close to 0 degrees.
