The filming of a pilot episode for Hulu based on a popular young adult novel will cause parking to be restricted on a major Staten Island roadway this week.
Signs have gone up on Forest Avenue warning that parking will be prohibited on the Silver Lake Park side of Forest, between Haven Esplanade and Duer Lane, beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The signs do not indicate how long parking will be restricted.
The restricted area is a popular parking spot for people who use Silver Lake Park on a daily basis.
The project name is listed as “Foster Dade” on the no-parking signs posted along the route.
Deadline has reported that “Foster Dade” is a Hulu drama pilot based on the popular young adult novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos,” by Nash Jenkins.
Matt Bomer will play the adult-age lead in the pilot, which is being directed by Daniel Minahan.
The pilot is a reunion for Bomer, Minahan and executive producer Robbie Rogers, who worked together on the Hulu thriller miniseries, “Fellow Travelers.”
According to Deadline, “Foster Dade” takes place in 2008 and the present day.
It is described as a “sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school that explores privilege, scandal, sexuality and masculinity amid the rise of social media, millennial anxiety and pharmaceuticals.”
Dade is a new transfer student at the boarding school, while Bomer plays Alex Tierney, a brilliant, eccentric, and “swoony” literature teacher.
Tierney’s intensity blurs the line between mentorship and intimacy, landing him in the thick of the Foster Dade scandal, Deadline said.
Chloe East was previously cast as the female lead Annabeth, a student who takes Foster under her wing.
