NEW YORK CITY —New York City has declared a “code blue” with temperatures expecting to drop around freezing Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
A code blue is activated when temperatures are forecasted to drop to 32 degrees or lower. It will be in effect from 4 p.m. until 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Temperatures are to go below freezing tonight. If you see anyone at risk, especially those living on the street, please call 311. During that time there will be increased outreach to homeless people, and they will offer access to shelters to those in need.
If you see a homeless person out in the cold or someone who may need shelter, residents are advised to call 311, and an outreach team will be sent out.
On Wednesday, temperatures could be around 31 degrees in the morning. Temperatures will feel as low as 21 degrees, according to forecasters.
