Wild video showed the chaotic moments during a police standoff in a residential Connecticut neighborhood as dozens of shots were fired in just a matter of seconds.
Stamford police found themselves in a standoff with someone inside a house on Oaklawn Avenue near Dartley Street Tuesday afternoon. The suspect soon barricaded himself inside the home, according to police.
As officers approached the house, their vehicles came under fire from the suspect, police said.
Nearly three dozen shots could be heard fired in about 20 seconds, as the suspect exchanged gunfire with police.
Eventually, the shots subsided and police were able to get into the home. That’s where they found the suspect, who died after he appeared to have shot himself.
There were no reports of any other injuries.
Those who live in the area told NBC New York that the man who lived in the home where the shots were fired seemed a bit odd to them.
