After the results were tallied from Election Day 2025, races for Hoboken’s Mayor and City Council were not conclusive. With a wide field of candidates running, no one candidate was able to capture the required majority of votes to fill the seat of the Mayor or the three open seats for Council at Large in the initial election. Consequently, a runoff election was held on Tuesday, December 2nd, to determine clear winners of the top two mayoral candidates and top six council candidates. Read on for the results determining the winners of Hoboken’s 2025 Municipal Elections.
Hoboken Mayoral Election Results
Election Day results showed Emily Jabbour and Dr. Michael Russo as the top two vote getters out of the six candidates who appeared on the ballot. Both candidates appeared on the ballot in the December 2nd runoffs. Districts have not yet started reporting and all results are TBD. These are the vote totals from the Hudson County Clerk’s Unofficial Election Night results as of 9:35PM election night with 73.8% districts reporting::

Hoboken Council at Large Election Results
On Election Day in November, the top six vote getters out of 15 candidates were Steve Firestone, Caitlin Layson, Joe Quintero, Peter Keeling, Nicole Magaña, and Liz Urtecho. The top three vote getters of those six from December 2nd’s elections will be elected to Council at Large. Districts have not yet started reporting and all results are TBD.
