Zack Zadek Musical Satellites Sets NYC Workshop
Phillipa Soo, Roe Hartrampf, Beth Leavel, and more are starring in the new work.

A new musical from Zack Zadek (Deathless), titled Satellites, is getting NYC workshops via Ars Nova, who commissioned the work, December 11 and 12. Maggie Burrows is directing.
Zadek is being fairly secretive about the project. The cryptic plot description in press notes simply reads, “Rachel Connors arrives in New Jersey as a mysterious event is underway.”
The workshop cast features Phillipa Soo (Hamilton), Roe Hartrampf (Emily in Paris), Tony winner Beth Leavel (The Prom), Michael Park (Dear Evan Hansen), Caesar Samayoa (Just In Time), and Morgan Dudley (Hadestown). Casting is by The Telsey office’s Patrick Goodwin.
“For a show that fully revolves around our characters’ psychological reality, I’m beyond stoked to work with this truly all-star cast and my incredible collaborators to give our very first invited audience a taste of the mystery of Satellites,” says Zadek in a statement.
The creative team also includes music director Madeline Benson, sound designer Cody Spencer, score supervisor Danielle Gimbal, and stage manager Matt Lacey.
