NEW YORK CITY — The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be lit Wednesday night — an annual tradition that kicks off the holiday season in New York City.
The live broadcast of the Christmas tree lighting will begin at 8 p.m. on NBC with Reba McEntire hosting this year’s ceremony. Live music will be performed by Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Laufey, New Edition, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Marc Anthony and Halle Bailey.
The tree will be lit just before 10 p.m. Visitors traveling to the tree lighting should use the 47th-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center stop on the B, D, F and M lines. The tree is located at 30 Rockefeller Center between West 49th and West 50th streets.
The tree will be on display through mid-January and will be lit up from 5 a.m. to midnight. It has more than 50,000 multicolored LED lights and a Swarovski star. On Christmas Eve, the tree will be lit up for 24 hours.
