RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers women’s basketball team (0-8), in its first home game in three weeks, fell to the Lions of Columbia University (5-4) by a final score of 84-38 inside Draddy Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After the Lions opened the game with eight unanswered points, Brianna Davis put the Jaspers on the board putting together a well-executed shimmy move to create separation from the defense.
Just before the introductory media timeout, Colette Mulderig drew contact down in the paint, converting on both of her chances from the stripe to cut the deficit to six.
Columbia ended the quarter on a 12-0 run, putting the Green and White down 18 at the first horn.
Elisa Solé Sanchez both collected a steal and knocked down a shot from beyond the arc for the first Manhattan points in the second frame.
Davis and Alyssa Costigan tallied the final three points of the half from the free throw line before the halftime buzzer.
It was Davis once more to kick off the second half scoring, with Solé Sanchez feeding her down low.
In a stretch that lasted less than 20 seconds, Solé Sanchez took advantage of her inside layup opportunity, Agar Farrés Garcia swiped a ball on the other end, and Solé Sanchez completed the fast break back where she started.
Mulderig tallied her third and fourth points of the night on a pull-up jumper in the final minute of the third.
Mulderig eventually increased her point total to 10, knocking down three shots in the final frame.
While Johlana Tatum and Costigan contributed with fourth quarter scoring, Columbia was able to maintain their lead wire-to-wire.
