KRIS Boyd has surprised his New York Jets teammates with an unexpected visit to the team’s practice facility.

The NFL star, 29, was shot in the abdomen on November 16 following an altercation outside a trendy Manhattan restaurant.

Boyd was treated at New York’s Bellevue Hospital after arriving in critical condition.

He was eventually discharged but re-admitted to hospital late last month as he continues his long recovery.

NYPD have “identified a potential shooter”, but no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, per ESPN.

Boyd was healthy enough to attend the Jets‘ special teams meeting on Wednesday.

He stayed at the team’s facility for much of the day, to the delight of worried teammates.

“I’m pretty sure every single person that walked by gave him a dap up, a high five or a semi-hug,” said defensive tackle Harrison Phillips.

“It was awesome to see him,” tight end Jeremy Ruckert added.

“It’s not something that we at all thought or knew was going to happen today, so it was a good surprise to see him with such high hopes and positive energy.

“It was cool, a good moment for us to get back around him and for him to be around us.”

Boyd was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft.

He had brief stints with the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans before arriving with the Jets earlier this year.

A shoulder injury landed him on injured reserve, with Boyd yet to play for the organization.

“I’ve had friends that didn’t survive gunshot wounds,” edge rusher Jermaine Johnson said.

“So to be able to see him walking around with a smile on his face, be able to [talk] with him, I mean, it’s always a blessing.

“[Guns] aren’t toys and they’re very deadly, so the fact that he walked away from it is a blessing.”
