Owning Manhattan” star Jade Shenker is back on the market and keeping her options open—both in love and real estate.

After Season 1 of the Netflix series focused heavily on her troubled five-year marriage and ultimate separation, Shenker has moved on from that relationship by moving into a new bachelorette pad in New York City.

The 29-year-old commercial real estate agent, who has worked at Ryan Serhant’s eponymous brokerage since 2021, reveals to Realtor.com® she actually rents two apartments in the Big Apple.

The first of her two Manhattan homes is an Upper West Side unit that she used to share with her ex-husband but now sublets to her mother, while the other is located in the Financial District and now serves as the bachelorette pad where she’s settled down to lean into work, self-care, and single life.

“Since Season 1 aired, I did become not married again,” says Shenker. “Technically, [we are] separated, but equivalent to divorce, so that was a really big journey. It was the first time that I had been single since being 19 years old, so going on the apps, going on dates was so interesting. It was so fun.”

When Shenker dipped back into the dating pool, it wasn’t just potential new partners she was attracted to. A modern-style loft designed by famed architect Philippe Starck that had caught her eye months before suddenly became available, and the astrology enthusiast saw it as a sign to move since the timing aligned with a cosmic period known for change and personal growth.

“This year, if you’re astrological, I’ve been through my Saturn return, literally as we were filming Season 2, so that’s been big,” she explains ahead of the sophomore season of “Owning Manhattan,” set to release Dec. 5.

“I really have learned the process of going through a divorce, you’re kind of forced to find yourself again, as far as, like, ‘What are Jade’s needs? What do I want?'”

Shenker’s focus on self-reflection has been supported by her new living arrangement. She began renting the 1,500-square-foot, one bedroom, two-bathroom, modern-style loft with an office in July, and has since reignited old passions while nurturing new ones.

“I took up things that I loved again, like tennis,” she shares. “I dance a lot, as you guys saw on Season 1.

“I am very entrepreneurial, so I’m launching a denim collection,” she says about her Love, Jade collection from Dear John Denim, which is due to launch Dec. 12. “We just shot a massive music video—$100,000 production—[with a] massive TikToker with 17 million followers. Her name’s Enola Bedard. She’s the singer to the song that we did it to.

“Work has been, always, the forefront to things that I love.”

Back in alignment with everything that makes her heart skip a beat, Shenker is ready to manifest love in all its forms. In this edition of Celebrity Sanctuary, she details her relationship with both of her New York City homes, but gets particularly deep about her primary bathroom to share how the special space showers her in the love and attention she’s looking for in this season of life—and reality TV.

I have a place in the Upper West Side and in the Financial District. I rent both of them. Right now, I’m in my Financial District apartment. It is a loft, so it is a 1,500-square-foot, one-bedroom kind of studio with an office.

I have my vision board on my phone at all times and my vision board from a year and a half ago, this unit was on my vision board.

Being in the Financial District, it’s really amazing to be so close to the stock exchange. It’s like my second office, the New York Stock Exchange. I go there a lot. It’s really cool because there’s billions and billions of billions and billions of dollars that’s transacted there every day.

And, you know, women used to not be allowed there so it’s really special to be so close to it. There’s a magic to it.

It’s funny, this happened the other day where it was maybe tourists or something. They were like, “That’s the fearless girl,” and I thought they were talking about me. And I was like, “Wait, no, that’s the [statue].”

I love this building so much. I love this apartment. It was marketed as a studio. As far as the layout, I will only live in a loft apartment.

My first adult apartment, I lived in a loft. It was a 3,500-square-foot loft with 20-foot ceilings and a giant, big Buddha head. Second apartment also had, I think, 18- or 20-foot ceilings. It was a walk-up, one-bedroom with my ex. After that, went to the Upper West Side loft.

I got my Upper West Side apartment in 2023 [or] 2024, whenever I went through the divorce. Right now, I sublease it to my mom, so she stays in it. Season 2, you do see my Upper West Side apartment. A lot of the cast have been to my Upper West Side apartment. It’s like my girly little sanctuary. I think that they would say that it’s cute. It’s very Jade.

What I used to do every time I went through a big life phase, I would paint and I would use my body parts to stamp. So the first time I did it was my first big girl move to Greenwich Village. I stamped my butt and then I made it all sparkly so that’s on the wall.

When I found out about [my ex-husband’s] infidelity on my birthday, I did another piece that was the front of my body. Literally stamped it and then painted around it. You can’t really tell that it’s my chest and my stomach but I know it and to me it symbolizes that point in time.

I never want to let go of my Upper West Side apartment because I went through all my toughest times in that apartment, and it’s so beautiful. It’s my girly pad; you go and there’s all of my paintings that I made, and there’s paintings of boobs and it’s just me.

This [Financial District] apartment is kind of stepping away from who I was whenever I was going through the divorce and and all of that expression, and it’s kind of like starting new, I would say. I think that it’s really been a staple to just fun.

It was a really good deal, to be honest. It was such a good deal. Lofts are difficult to find in New York City, especially with so many people renovating.

Whenever I found this one, what I loved about it was just the layout. One, it’s large. It’s 1,500 square feet. Two, there’s an office, and the office is on the opposite side of the living room, so you can kind of have your sanctuary away from all the fun that’s happening over here.

There’s also two entrances. There’s an entrance that goes directly to the office and an entrance that goes to the living room, which is kind of nice especially when I’m getting ready and I’m doing stuff and I’m also making a mess because I’m a girl.

I make messes and sometimes it’s kind of nice to have the mess in the office. That way, the entire apartment looks clean while I have my mess in the office or vice versa.

It’s a two-[bathroom apartment]. The main bathroom has his and hers sinks. It has a giant tub and a beautiful shower. I haven’t used the tub still, but I like that it’s there. The bathroom is, I think, my favorite.

I’ve just been working on the art collection. In my first apartment, I sort of either made the art or I found up and coming artists. Now I kind of want to look at investment pieces. I’m on the advisory board for a nonprofit called Silver Art [Projects], which is also featured in the show. It’s an artist cohort, a residency.

The acceptance rates for artists is lower than Yale. It’s, I think, the hardest art residency to get into in maybe the world, if not just the U.S. A lot of the artists are super up and coming. Serena Williams is on the board, Sophie Cullen, so I like going there and seeing if there’s any works that I really love.

As somebody who loves serving, I love giving back to people, whether it’s entertainment, charity, work, real estate services, I’m always available on my phone, giving attention to my friends or to guys, whatever it is. In the outside world, I’m always giving, giving, giving, giving, giving.

To me, a sanctuary is a place where I get to recharge, a place where I can just focus on myself.

That’s why the bathroom is my sanctuary. It’s the mirrors, just focused on me. I would bring my phone to the shower, but I can’t physically type properly. It forces me to really just be in my body. Sometimes the most magical ideas happen when I’m not giving out my energy, but I’m just sort of taking in my own energy.

If you walked in, I have a lot of light. Everything’s white tile, so the floors are white tile. The walls are white marble tile. The tub is almost like a Jacuzzi tub, which is nice, and over that I have a lot of shelving units that I’ve been working to curate sort of my cute little, like, essential oils and all of that stuff. It’s still a work in progress. To the left, I have two mirrors with little compartments.

For me, the bathroom is my sanctuary because of the lighting. The lighting’s great so I can shoot content. I also think that there is this beautiful thing about—I’m a Pisces—being around water.

When I’m showering, I’m away from my phone, so I’m really in my body.

Whenever I shower, I like having incense there. Some sage, too. I like cleansing-energy-type stuff. That’s probably the most sentimental thing I have in my bathroom.

I’m big on aroma, so I love lighting a candle. I have these little shower steam bomb sort of things that steams in the shower. I love them. And honestly, even after I’m out of the shower, sometimes I’ll just sit on the floor and be on my phone and then just … I don’t know, there’s this magic to just being in that room and being outside from the world. When I’m getting ready, too, there’s something really magical.

This is going to sound very conceited, but looking in the mirror, it’s just me. I’m focused on me. Looking at my mirror is pretty, it’s great. It’s like my little sanctuary.

Sometimes I do fresh flowers in the bathroom. Not all the time. It depends on my mood. I never buy my own flowers. I like to be sent flowers. I like arrangements. Right now, I’m into pink roses. I think that that’s really cute and sweet. But yeah, the flowers definitely rotate [depending on] what I like. I don’t like when guys send me the same flowers all the time. I know that’s a Champagne problem, but, like, you have to change it up a little bit.

I’m still kind of working on [the bathroom]. It definitely is sometimes not the easiest to focus on the home because I am so busy, but I have actually had help from my director of [operations] in designing my bathroom because it needs to be efficient for my life. I get so much [public relations packages with product samples sent], and it’s great, but [I keep] rotating it out and having my essentials.

I also love my go-tos. All of my favorite skin products are there. My favorite lasers. I have an at-home laser and red light therapy, and all of that is in the bathroom.

I keep it efficient. It’s stylish and it’s nice, but I like to make sure that everything in the bathroom has purpose.

It is a work in progress; I have a lot of ideas as far as putting in wallpaper. In the second bathroom, I want to do a statement wall and kind of curate it to be a little bit more quirky, but it’s still a work in progress.

I also have an artist that I’m obsessed with. I love her work so much. Her name [is] Michela Roman. Her pieces are amazing and I would love to get a piece of her art in my bathroom, but I also don’t want it to damage the art so I have to figure that out.
