In a Netflix crossover no one expected, Owning Manhattan real estate aficionado Jessica Taylor just revealed her shocking connection to Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower.
When Taylor stopped by DECIDER’s studio earlier this week to talk about Owning Manhattan Season 2, she shared that her first kiss was with Bower, who plays series villain Henry Creel (a.k.a Vecna) in Stranger Things.
“My first kiss was actually with someone who is on Stranger Things,” she shared. “It was an amazing show, but after the first season, it was a little scary for me. I need something light and fluffy. He plays the villain, I believe. Jamie Campbell Bower.”
When pressed for more details, Taylor revealed that she found herself slow dancing with Bower in grade school after his cousin, whom she had gone to school with, brought him to their Valentine’s dance.
“It was a slow dance. You know those discos?” she remembered. “We would do slow dances and the song that was playing was ‘Angel of Mine’ [by Monica] … We were slow dancing and we kissed. So, that was my first kiss.”
Taylor added, “He probably doesn’t even remember.”

Bower made his Netflix debut as Henry/Vecna/One in Season 4 of Stranger Things, while Taylor burst onto the scene in August 2024 as one of the main cast members of Owning Manhattan, which follows real estate mogul Ryan Serhant‘s team of agents as they not only navigate the luxurious New York City real estate market, but also their dramatic personal lives.
While it’s certainly a small world that the two UK-born celebs who once shared an ’80s rom-com-style smooch on the dance floor would both end up on top-rated Netflix shows around the same time, I suppose it’s safe to say that stranger things have happened.
Owning Manhattan Season 2 and Stranger Things Season 5, Part 1 are currently streaming on Netflix.
