NEW YORK (PIX11) – The northern lights could be visible in parts of New York this week, according to predictions from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
On Sunday, there’s only a possibility to see the northern lights at the very northern tip of New York. But by Monday, half of the state could be seeing the atmospheric phenomenon.

The northern lights are not likely to be seen as far south as New York City, according to NOAA predictions.
For New Yorkers farther north, the NOAA advises trying to see the aurora between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. The best seasons for aurora viewing are the spring and fall equinoxes.
